I’m considering hormonal replacement therapy. It was prescribed to me today by my obgyn. Obviously for sever menapausal symptoms. My concern is cancer. So much I read and people tell he how bad it is and don’t do it because it can cause cancer. My doctor says very very unlikely. I was trying to find some reviews from women who have used the HRT. Is the threat of cancer likely?
Hello, my name is Dr Olgeta Xhufka. I understand your concern. It is true and studies show that hormone therapy slightly I creases the risk of breast cancer is similar to delayed menopause and it comes into effect after 5 years of HRT. Risk is increased with peolonged therapy. Hope my answer was helpful, if you have any other questions I'll be glad to help, thanks!
