Does Having Unprotected Sex During Periods Cause Pregnancy?

My period has always been very regular around an average of 28 days. My period lasted for about 5-6days. It started on 21 April 2016 and I had unprotected sex on 25 April 2016 and I was still bleeding. My partner wasn t feeling well and he was on medication, also before sex, he had took a hot shower to reduce sperm count. I have an app which predicted my ovulation is on 5 May 2016, I would like to know if there is any chance I won t get pregnant? Thanks

Hi.

Chances of pregnancy seem unlikely to me if your date of ovulation has always been accurate, which it should be if your period has always been regular. The sperm can survive inside the female body for about 3-5 days maximum, not longer. So even if healthy sperm did reach its destination, the egg would not have been release until around 10 days later, so I do believe conception is unlikely ma'am, but then again when it comes to conception, anything can happen.

Best wishes.
