Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
10 years post bilateral oophorectomy, to complete hysterectomy started in 96. Left kidney removed 2004, gallbladder 2000. Have had elevated ALP of 124u/l with all other levels normal. Dr is sending me for a bone scan, guessing they are looking for osteoporosis given the lack of hormones as I cannot take estradiol by pill as the chemical make up is too much for my system. 5 1 182# s age 41.
Osteoporosis is a possibility. Other conditions like any infiltration lesion in the vine can also cause elevated ALP. You can proceed with bone scan to make a proper diagnosis.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
