Does Cow Milk Cause Constipation In A Kid?

my son is 2 years and 9 months old. he is suffering from constipation from almost a year. our paediatrician said might be he is constipated because of COWS MILK. he have also prescribed him COLAX for 15 days and asked us NOT to give COWS MILK. he is a bit relieved with the medicine. but I am worried about WHAT MILK TO GIVE MY SON. He loves Milk and in a day he consumes almost 700 ml of milk. Do Cows milk cause constipation. what is the alternative to cows milk.

Hi..Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
Sometimes Milk is hard to digest by a child, this is very common. As your child is nearly 3 year old, you can give him curd, juice & other alternatives such as juice etc
Try to switch your child to bread, whole grain, rice etc. As a milk substitute you can give Lactogen powder dissolved in boiled then cooled water as milk

Hope I answered your query
good luck
