Does Change Of Birth Control Pills Cause Irregular Periods?

I believe my period is late and of course I think the most obvious thing to begin with -pregnancy. But I came off of a mini pill about 4 weeks ago as I m changing to a new pill (myself and my boyfriend have had intercourse since then but we did use protection). I read online that coming off of a pill and taking none can make your period irregular for a couple months. If I take a pregnancy test and it comes back negative, should I just allow my periods to regulate again and start my new pill or should i go and see my GP? Thank you

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, two thing would be matter of concern, one if this is the amenorrhea then it need to be test for pregnancy and it can not be taken as granted if hormone medicine taken because it is not hundred per cent protective hope this information helps.
