Does Breast Cancer Progress On A Faster Pace?

My boobs hurt. How fast can breast cancer spread? I m 33 and my PPC has said I can wait until my next well woman exam (in about a month) for a breast exam....but I am leaving for vacation soon and then it will be the holidays and then a new insurance plan year. I am considering waiting until March 2017 for the exam so I can buy extra insurance, critical condition coverage, fund my HSA and front-load my deductible. May sound crazy but I can feel that something isn t right (in my left breast) so I am trying to be calm and plan for the worst.

Hi,

Breast Cancer is one of the slow-growing cancers in the body, usually takes 6-12 months to double its size. As per the current recommendations, for your age, you can do a monthly self-breast examination, which is once in a month, examine your breast in front of the mirror, look for any changes such as swelling, redness, ulcer, nipple changes, etc. Look for these changes that were not there previously. if you feel so, then get it checked. also is there any family history of cancers especially close relatives who got diagnosed with cancer before the age of 50, if yes then you should be more careful and get yourself screened for the genetic test which can give you your chances of developing cancer in future.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
