Does Bad Odour From The Dog Affect Pregnant Women?
I have a 27 year old daughter that is 5 months pregnant. They just put down a dog that was old and had been urinating and defecating a lot on a rug in their outside room that was only used for the dogs, but is connected to their living area. It smells horrendous and they have not gotten rid of it yet. They don t see any urgent need. I keep telling her that it is dangerous for her. Am I just being an overprotective mom?
Thank you for writing to us. It's every mom's natural concern to be worried for the health of their children, so don't worry too much, however my advise to your daughter and her husband would be that it is necessary to keep their surroundings clean and ensure that their dog is groomed and vaccinated even if it is their outhouse because any bacterial or viral infection from the dog's feces or urine could effect their health even risking them of getting contracted with ringworm, roundworms, scabies from the dog which could affect their health especially to the baby after birth.
Wishing you all good health and safe delivery for your daughter!
