Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Welcome to HCM
appreciate your concern for your wife.
There are several groups of medicines used in the treatment of anxiety. If it is a Benzodiazepine group, then usually people tend to sleep more, though paradoxical reactions can occur.
Medicines in the SSRI group can produce nausea and decrease in sleep.
Stress and anxiety can produce difficulty in sleeping, dryness of the mouth, nausea and other symptoms.
Your wife should see her doctor again for a reassessment and adjustment/ change of medicine as indicated.
