Does An Ear Infection Affect The Eyes?

My 1 year old has an ear that started draining fluid with a rash of red dots around his ear. Also he has pinkish eyes primarily in the eye next to his ear. Is that normal to affect his eyes? He often gets earaches and has had it drain a few times in his life.

Hi, thanks for your query.

Maybe the infections spread from the ear to the eye, the secret from ear itself usually contains a bacteria, that may easily cause infection in other site.

Make sure you clean your son's ear from secret, and avoid your son scratch his eyes.

Meet your local doctor (an otolaryngologist or opthalmologist) to cure your son condition.
