Does Alcohol Intake Reduce The Effectiveness Of Antibiotics?

I was diagnosed with chlamydia in the throat a few weeks ago and was prescribed azithromycin. can consuming alcohol lower the chances of the antibiotic working? Also.. I have experienced a white and yellow tongue with bumps in the back near the throat and other symptoms. I m paranoid of HIV

Antibiotics and alcohol can cause similar side effects, such as stomach upset, dizziness and drowsiness. Combining antibiotics and alcohol can increase these side effects and in the same time alcohol can influence the effect of the drugs (increase or decrease their effect).
