Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
A positive Widal test does not necessarily mean typhoid as it is not the Gold standard test. The Gold standard being a blood culture or a stool culture. However, a positive widal test with no notion of antibiotherapy lately may indicated a typhoid infection even if not yet symptomatic.Widal interpretation also depends on the titre. Treating you for it to prevent future symptoms and typhoid complications like intestinal perforation will be a good practice.
However, persistent cough for 20days and sore throat suggest a respiratory infection. Most of these infections are caused by viruses and will need only symptomatic treatment. However, bacteria infection or superinfection are possible and will justify the use of antibiotics. An associated typhoid infection with the respiratory infection no matter the cause will need an antibiotherapy since both infections should be targeted.
I will suggest:
-You continue with zady500 since it is good for respiratory infections as well
-Take an anti-histamine like premalan
-Gargle with salt water
-Avoid cold, dust and smoke
-Get enough rest
Hope this will help you
Best regards
