Does A Persisting Sty In The Eye Need Medical Attention?

I ve had a stye for about a week. I was pretty sore last week and red. It got better and I thought it was about done but it hung on during the weekend and I still have it. I put some peroxide on it, it bubble up and stung, I was careful not to get any peroxide on my eye though. It is now draining and some muck gathers on my eye that I wipe off with a warm washcloth and I have been using warm compresses the whole time. I read that they should be better in a week. It s better than it was last week, just not gone. When should I see a doctor?

Hi..
Welcome to HCM..Thanks for the query..
A stye can totally subside in a week and sometimes it may take more time..
You can continue using warm compresses which are the best remedy to reduce the swelling..
You can use antibiotic eye ointment like moxifloxacin two times a day for 2 weeks..
You can consult the doctor for clarification and better advice..
Hope I answered your query..Take care..
