Does A Keloid Scar Form On The Cheek S Deep Gash?

Hello, I fell down almost four days ago and hit my cheek. The gash was quite deep and I was wondering what the symptoms are of a keloid scar forming. The swelling has yet to subside on the gash itself and there is epithelial tissue surrounding one side

As per your query you have symptoms of keloid scar on cheek which occurs when deposits occurs in cheek area due to excessive collagen formation. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to apply intralesional triamcinolone acetonide as it is effective in causing breakdown of collagen tissue and will cause flattening of scar. Best treatment option for this is injection of intralesional steroids. You can get its repeated injections as well. If any pus formation and any redness occurs it is mainly because of infection. It could be due to variation in temperature as well. You should start using a topical steroid cream like clobetasol over the keloid.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
