Does A Head Injury Need Medical Attention?

A few days ago, an elderly friend fell and hit his head. He stated that he was not feeling too well and that he was sleeping more than usual. I suggested that he visit the ER but he doesn't believe it's of any consequence. Should I keep insisting or just leave him alone ?

Hello dear,

Keeping his age in consideration, even minor injury can cause the rupture of small blood vessels in the brain, resulting in accumulation of blood (Hematoma).
Feeling of un-wellness and more than usual sleep can be attributed to increased intra-cranial pressure, secondary to the blood accumulation.
This needs to be ruled out with the help of a CT scan of brain.

So, it will be advisable to consult a Neurologist and get a CT scan done.

Wishing him a good health.
Take care.
