Does A Bump On The Head Require Serious Attention?

I have a hard bump on my head. I ve noticed it for awhile it was first the size of the tip of my pinky now it s the size of my thumb it s gotten harder and I m not sure if I should get it checked or not.... Also not sure but I have severe headaches could this be a cause?

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have bump on head needs any serious attention. Well there are many causes of bumps on your head, related to the skin, soft tissues, bones or the meninges . The bump on your head can also be a follicullitis . If it is not paining or spreading then no need to worry . I would suggest you to consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may examine physically checking tenderness and consistency . Doctor may also take sample for lab test . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics along with anti inflammatory . Doctor may dain it in case of hematoma or may refer you to neurologist for meningitis .
