Does A Brain Injury Cause Jaw Pain?

Hi silly question but my son threw his cell phone while trying to get it in the pool bag but it hit me in the head right by the temple of my head. Immediately my jaw hurt and still does. It hurts to the touch and I’m worried that I could have a brain bruise or bleed. Is that possible or am I just letting my anxiety get the best of me

Hi,

The description of your injury and the circumstance would not be expected to result in a concussion or what is also referred to as mTBI. The blow was merely a traumatic injury to the temple of the head which had enough force to likely jar the joint of the mandible and that is why your jaw hurts.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
