Does Zosyn Injection Help In The Treatment Of Acute Kidney Disease?

My mother is in the hospital with a bad case of Diverticulitis that is going to require surgery. She is receiving Zosyvn antibiotic for that. But she also has Acute kidney disease with a creatinine level of 4.8. So surgery is out until the kidney is operating at an acceptable level. My question is with the antibiotic injections will the kidney have a chance to repair itself?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Only treatment for AKD is fluid therapy and antibiotics. There are good chances that it will recover.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
