Does Warfarin And Mobic Cause Barrett S Esophagus?
Was on Warfin and Mobic and had a GI bleed /bleeding ulcer just weeks after a knee scope. Was taken off both meds and weeks later again in the hospital ED for bilateral PE s. Now on Eliquis. My follow up endoscopy shows the ulcer has healed and the Dx of Barrett s Esophagus. My question is I really never had symptoms of gerd, only slight indigestion, could the meds have also contributed to the Barrett s Esophagus?

Long-term use of Warfarin can cause gastritis and subsequent Barett.
Nothing much to worry and frequent follow-up is required.
Avoid spicy foods as it will worsen your condition.
