Does Trazodone Intake Cause Dry And Itchy Skin?

I have had problems with recurring diarrhea for the past year. Have periods so extreme I lose weight fast and am unable to be far from the restroom. A year ago I did an extreme amount of testing only to be told it s possibly gluten. I have been pretty strict with it ever since but I don t think its everything. I also have dry skin so extreme I itch and look like a lizard. Can Trazadone be doing this to me? It s taking a toll. Hope for some advice. Thank you

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Dry skin can be a side effect of Trazodone. This medication can cause dry mouth, dry eyes and dry skin. I recommend you to consult your doctor about an alternative medicine.

Meanwhile I recommend using a moisturizer for the skin. I also recommend using antihistamines for the itchiness.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
