Does Spinocerebellar Degeneration Cause Breathing Problem

My question is, that I have a rare disorder it s called Spinocerebellar degeneration. With having this desease, does it give you breathing problems? It has been like this for a long time. Can you give me all the symptoms of it? The doctor I saw at Chapel Hill and said it is affecting my brain, cerebellum. He said at time,.. it will keep shrinking.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I am sorry you are having this condition. I understand it is a frustrating long term condition.
Spinocerebellar degeneration mostly affects coordination and balance but the shortness of breath is a possible symptom with it as well, so it is important that you discuss this with your doctor.

I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,
