Does Rigevidon Cause Acne Breakouts?

I have PCOS , so my GP prescribed me a combined pill called Rigevidon, I know it is meant to control my androgen levels but I have heard that it causes acne breakouts in the skin, since I already have acne , I am considering whether or not I should switch pills?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is not an androgen related pill, it is a combined oral contraceptive.

Oral contraceptives are commonly prescribed in PCOS because they help to regularize the menstrual cycle.

Oral contraceptives normally help acne because they control hormones that may influence this condition. There are some that may be more helpful in this area than others such as diane 25.

It is possible that the rigevidon may help your acne but if it does not then you can ask your doctor for an alternative.

I hope this helps
