Does Premarin On Long Term Usage Reduce The Bone Mineral Density?

I m 57 and have been on Premarin since my total hysterectomy 11 years ago. I take .45 mg every 2 to 3 days. I still get breakthrough hot flashes that I can tolerate. Is the dosage I m on relatively safe and will it help me from progressing from osteopenia to osteoporosis

Premarin is long acting conjugated Oestrogen. The action of Oestrogen is to increase the bone density while low Oestrogen leads to osteoporosis. That is why women suffer from osteoporosis after menopause.
Premarin being oestrogen cannot reduce the bone density; on the contrary it will help improve the bone density. It should take care of your hot flushes also.
The dose of Premarin you are receiving is rather low. Increasing the dose may give you relief from the menopausal syndrome.
