Does Prednisone Interact With Enbrel?

Is prednisone ok to take if you ve been taking Enbrel for about 10 years? My husband thought he had a sinus infection (as in the past), but antibiotics did not help. He had x-rays and was told he didn t have an infection and prescribed prednisone which he has never taken before. Can he continue his Enbrel injections once a week while taking prenisone?

Hello,

Etanercept together with prednisone may increase the risk of serious and potentially life-threatening infections.

If you develop signs and symptoms of infection such as fever, chills, diarrhoea, sore throat, muscle aches, shortness of breath, blood in phlegm, weight loss, red or inflamed skin, body sores, and pain or burning during urination means, you may consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
