General & Family Physician 's  Response
Yes, pravastatin can cause muscle pain and joint pain. This is a very common side effect of pravastatin. This is usually seen during early stage of starting pravastatin and resolves in due course of time even after continuing pravastatin. You can use another statin such as atorvastatin or rosuvastatin. Atorvastatin and rosuvastatin might not cause joint pain.
Advice
1.     You can use rosuvastatin or atorvastatin instead of pravastatin
2.     If pain is unbearable then you can take ibuprofen 600 mg orally after meal for relief of pain
3.     Take rest for few days
I hope this information will help you. I will be happy if you ask another question
