Does Micronor Cause Missed Period And Spotting?

This girl that I am seeing romantically is taking Micronor. She had switched from a different kind of birth control to this one. We had been having romantic relationships throughout her change of meds, but we were always safe(using condoms). She hasn t had her period in two weeks, but was spotting for six days at one point. Is this because of the Micronor, or should she pickup a pregnancy test?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Micronor can change the periods, which can be heavier or lighter. So, if you have protected intercourse and your friend have used Micronor, the chances of pregnancy are very very low. In my opinion, there is no need for a pregnancy test.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
