Does Metformin Cause False Positive Results For Heroin During Swab Test?

Hi, A couple of months ago I took a swab test for my pain management. I came up positive for heroin, which I have never done in my life. The only medication that has been added was Metformin. I was discharged and left out to hang with a problem getting my pain meds. Could this medication have caused the results?

Hello. Read your query and noted the contents.
Its unlikely that metformin would have caused it though a variety of medications are known to cause false positive results. I will give you a link and you can try to recollect if you were on any of those.
