Does Lutuda Tablet Cause Dryness In The Mouth?

Lutuda makes my mouth feel funny. I don t know if it s dehydration or dry mouth. It seems to happen in the 1st hour after taking it. I also worry about TD side effect. I take 20 mill. I took 40 mill.and felt so funny I had to go to bed and sleep it off. It helps to make me feel better but I don t like what it does to my mouth. Sometimes it seems to make my mouth click. I take it for depression. I m not bipolar or scitzo. Thank you

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per you complain Latuda contains active ingredient Lurasidone and dry mouth is a common side effect of it..
It does not seems to be due to dehydration but is a side effect being caused due to dry mouth..
I would suggest you to consult your treating Physician and get evaluated and either dose reduction or changing to other anti depressant medication can help in resolution of the problem..

As of now chew sugarfree chewing gums..
-Drink plenty of water.
-Avoid regular mouthwash and use specialized mouthwash that are formulated for dry mouth patients like Biotene..
-You can also instil artificial saliva drops..
-Suck tart candies as it also stimulates saliva flow..
