Does Latanoprost Ophthalmic Solution Cause Low BP?

After 17 years of taking Lisinopril , 40 mg per day, I started to get low blood pressure in the range of 90/50 or lower. I also got dizzy for a few seconds sometimes. I reduced the Lisinopril to 15 mg a day and I am OK. Could the Low Blood Pressure been caused by Latanoprost Opthalmic Solution which I started about the same time as the BP problem. I take it for Glaucoma.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It is not known to cause a lowering of blood pressure but everyone reacts differently to medicine. It is possible that it may be causing this effect to you.

If your blood pressure is now consistently well below normal, then you may need to speak to your doctor about the blood pressure medicines.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James
