Does Concor Have The Same Effect As Inderal?

hey doctor , I get a panic attack always before doing a presentation , so i used to take inderal 20mg , i used to take two pills of it before doing a presentation at uni , and now i can t find this dose anymore so the doc gave me a concor 2.5 , is one pill of it will give me the effect of 2 pills of inderal 20 mg ? or should i take 2 ? because the inderal really helped with the anxiety attack ! thanks

Thanks for contacting HCM with your medical question.

You are concerned about taking concor instead of Inderal for your panic or performance anxiety. Both concor and Inderal are beta blockers. They both reduce anxiety by reducing the adrenalin surge during a panic. You can take 2.5 to 5 mg prior to your talks but be aware that a higher dose my cause your blood pressure to go down too low. I recommend that you first try the 2.5 mg before increasing the dose.
