Hello, Thanks for the query. The drug Atacand (Candesartan) is usually very well tolerated. However, following side effects may be experienced by some people taking that drug like :runny or stuffy nose, sore throat, cough, back pain, joint pain, stomach pain, diarrhea, headache, dizziness, tired feeling, feeling like you might pass out, chest pain, swelling in your hands or feet, slow heart rate, weak pulse, or tingly feeling. Therefore, pain in hip and downwards may be due the drug. It can also cause swelling of legs and feet. If the problem is more then you can talk to the doctor and get the drugs changed to one that may suit better. Or else, the effect usually tend go away on use over next few days to few weeks. If the blood pressure control is good with it then you may consider continuing with it. Plus it has protective effect on kidney functions. Thanks.
