Does Ampiclox Cause Delayed Period?

I have been takeing ampiclox regularly after unprotected sex, 4 days late already I can t see my period but I experience little bleeding ,though I haven t gotten any sign of pregnancy at all or even cramping for my period. Is it possible for ampiclox to delay my period?

I understand your concern.

Ampiclox is an antibiotic medication which is used to treat infections. It does not cause delay in periods.

The possible reason why there could be delay in periods might be due to presence of stress due to infection. Hence, you may wait for another week for your body to recover completely from infection, which, in the meantime periods could happen.

In case you are sexually active and delay in getting periods continues for more than 10 days, you need to do the following:
1. Urine pregnancy test.
2. Ultrasound scan of abdomen and pelvis.
3. Blood levels of FSH and LH levels to know the hormone status.

Kindly consult Gynecologist with the reports for appropriate evaluation and management.
