Do The Gaps In Between The Teeth Post Bi Cuspid Molar Extraction Close?

I'm a year into my Ortho treatment, had my first bi cuspid molars removed on top and bottom. All the space on the bottom has closed, but only the top left side of my top teeth have mostly closed the gap and my right side space is still open. To make matters worse, 4 weeks ago, my Orthodontist put a train around my molars and canines on the top teeth to supposedly close the gaps, which created more space on my upper right side by pulling the canines back, So now I have bottom gaps closed, upper left side of space is mostly closed, and right side, has big gap next to my canine, cause they went back.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that due to improper application there has been distal/backward movements of teeth and it is leading to opening up of more gaps and it needs to be corrected by application of appropriate forward forces that will move the teeth towards the midline and close the gaps..

Certain things like elastics, e-chains etc can be used to implicate appropriate forces that will provide appropriate movement of teeth and will help in closing up of the gaps..

I would suggest you to consult another Orthodontist and get evaluated and he can give you a proper advised by doing a clinical examination..
You need not to worry as the symptoms can improve and the spaces will close and this is not an irreversible damage..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
