Do Steroid Injections Cause Nerve Pain At The Neck Area?

I have what appears to be a nerve pain that runs from my neck to the left side of my neck, shoulder and arm. It is not my heart. Pain medications do not help. In the past I have had steroid injections on the lower back of my spine. Could this be causing my current problem?

That's quite a stretch to go from the back all the way up to the neck. C spine disase is quite common in any case. often x ray studies can show it.
