Do Sore Throat, Cough And Sneezing Need Medical Attention?

Hello, I am trying to figure out if I should see an MD. I have a severe sore throat and painful coughing that I feel in my chest. (And, I have relatively mild cold symptoms-a little stuffiness and sneezing, but not bad). Not much energy and have been on my couch for two days. Any suggestions would be welcome. thank you!

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It seems that you are suffering from inflammation in the respiratory tract.

You may find relief by taking the following medications:
Antibiotics, like Augmentin
Analgesic with anti inflammatory, like Ibuprofen
Antacid, like Rantac
Anti allergic with decongestant, like Levocetirizine with Phenylephrine
Mucolytic like Ambroxol

Do steam inhalation and warm saline gargles. Drink lots of fluids.

Take care.
