Do Sore Breasts Along With Inflamed Neck And Chest Indicate Breast Cancer?

HI! I am 60 yrs old. My mother had breast cancer at 65. As of late I have been drinking a lot of tea and coffee. My right breast is extremely sore it hurts without me touching it. My neck, chest, and the side of my breast toward my chest is all red. I m pretty sure as of tonight that I can feel a lump also toward the inside about the size of a nichol. Also for several weeks I have been running an unexplained fever. By late afternoon it can go anywhere from 99.5 to 101! I would appreciate your thoughts and suggestions! Thanks so much! Didn t know there was a fee. Great for those without insurance. I ll go to my internist next week. Thanks anyway!

Simple redness is not a sign of cancer. but you said there a lump in the Breast. Then it needs to be investigated. Breast lumps due to malignancy are usually painless except one variety of inflammatory breast cancer which is associated with redness, pain and tenderness in breast that progresses very fast. Such condition needs immediate medical attention. But all these are confined only to Breast and extend to chest wall as disease progresses.. Redness starting on face and neck is not associated with breast cancer.
