Do Same Blood Group Parents Have Abnormal Babies?

Hello Dr, I have been married for last two months... Me and my husband belong to the same blood group that is O+. I was a bit worried about the pregnancy as we both have the same blood group. Few of my relatives and family friends gave me an example of having abnormal kids due to the same blood group . Especially if we are thinking about second baby. Could you please give me detailed information over this as Im very much disturbed over the matter. Waiting for q positive response. Thanks & Regards Amruta

Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns

No , having same blood group has nothing to do with the birth of abnormal kids , Otherwise also O positive blood group is most common blood group in many countries .

You can happily plan your pregnancy , you and your husband's blood group has has nothing to do with chance of abnormal kids . Eat a balanced diet, avoid smoking and alcohol.
