Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
This morning I felt lightheaded for several seconds. This was accompanied by seeing gray blotches of different sizes. I clocked out and rested for 10-15 min. I ate some candy and then was feeling better. My dr. said I have episodes of having low blood sugar. Many thanks!
Hello Low blood sugar can cause dizziness with other symptoms like cold sweating, blurry vision, rapid heartbeat, hunger, trouble thinking clearly which can lead to loss of consciousness. I agree with your doctor about his diagnosis, especially because your symptoms resolved when you ate candy, which represent one of criteria of diagnosis low blood sugar. When you feel any of that symptoms again, you should take sugar (2 teaspoons) or honey (3 teaspoons) and take after that a piece of bread to get your blood sugar at normal levels. Inform your family or anyone lives with you about the possible episodes to take care of you if you have another episode because low blood sugar is a dangerous situation which should be managed immediately.
Hope I answered your question Wish you a healthy life Best regards Dr. Noor Farid
