Difficulty In Climbing Stairs, Sore, Limping. Heard Pop In Back Of Leg Stepping From Car. Recommendations?
Last evening I was getting out of the car and when I stepped down I heard a pop in the back of leg and it began to burn... just under my right calf.... I could barely make it back up the stairs... this morning it is still sore and I am limping however when I sit down and take the pressure of my leg it doesn't hurt... the spot is very tender to the touch

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
Hi, Thanks for posting your query. From description it seems to be calf muscle strain. Give rest to the injured part and do not involve in activities which puts additional strain on the injured tissues. Applying muscle relaxant gel and taking antiinflammatory drug will be helpful. Hope this will helps you. Feel free to ask me if you have any further queries. Wish you good health. Take care. Regards. Dr Saurabh Gupta. Orthopaedic Surgeon.
Hi, It seems that you got severe strain on your calf muscles giving rise to spasm of calf muscles. Take some analgesic tablet with muscle relaxant medicines. Apply analgesic cream. Give rest to calf muscles. Ok and take care.
