Did Squeezing The Boil On My Thigh Turn It Into A Red Lump Under The Skin?

I have a boil like thing on my upper inner thigh that I noticed 2 days ago I ve been cleaning it and putting bacitracin on it with a bandaid too just got antibacterial soap and am washing it with that and warm water now. I m pretty it will be fine but yesterday I messed with it an squeezed it and blood and smelly pus came out which actually relieved some of the pain it was causing. When I first noticed it in the shower it felt like a a large lump under the skin and now that lump seems to be larger and the area around the boil more red. Is that from messing with it? Do I need to be concerned? Thanks

Hi,

I have gone through your query and you are having a furuncle which is a bacterial infection of the hair follicle.

Your manipulating it has increased the inflammation.

I would recommend you to take an oral antibiotic like tablet cephalexin along with anti-inflammatory medicine like tablet ibuprofen.

Also, continue with the topical antibiotic.
