Diagnosed Pulmonary Edema. Prescribed Medication. Tests To Be Conducted. Steps To Be Taken For A Safe Life?
my mother-in-law is 93 and has been diagnosed with CHF/ Pulmonary edema. Medications have been prescribed by the primary Dr. and she will be having more tests to determine the stage of her condition. My question is since she is elderly, living by herself, what steps need to be taken to make her life as safe as possible while she is living at home alone?
She is 93 and very senile now. it is better to not leave her alone. A care taker or a nurse is very good to have around for her and as she has pulmonary oedema , the best way is to keep her on diuretics and ACE inhibitors as they will remodel the heart function. A 2d echo is of utmost importance and BNP levels to know the prognosis
