Detailed Ultrasound Shows Baby's Stomach Has Not Developed, Advised To Terminate Pregnancy. Is It Required ?
Hey. I had an detailed ultrasound did at 28 weeks gestation. I was told by my doctor that my baby stomach didn't develop but the baby does have all its major organs like bladder, kidneys, & etc & that I needed to terminate my pregnancy because my child will not make it & eventually pass in the womb. Is this true or do i need an second opinion?
Form your query, it is seen that a complete ultrasound was done at 28 weeks gestations. There was no stomach bubble but all other organs (bladder, kidneys included) were seen to be normal in appearance.
I suggest you go for a tertiary ultrasound at a fetal medicine center closest to your place.
They will see the baby in greater details and also look for any other softer signs of developmental defects.
For a baby to be terminated, two ultrasound specialists must see the baby and independently issue reports that are conclusive that the baby would have serious birth defects.
Please get your second scan at earliest because you are in your 28 weeks and in some countries termination of pregnancy is not allowed beyond a certain time.
HI THank for choosing HCm, LOok this is very crucial advise, without the proper usg documentation reading and after the discussion with radiologist, having discussion with expert neonatologist,, it is not wise to advise any thing, you better do it, do not take any early decision,, have good day
