Could White Sores On The Tongue Be The Symptom Of STD?

hi I have a friend, married with two children; he has gay tendencies and was penetrated by a person he met and did not know; a few weeks after the incident, he got sick with flu symptoms , and connected it to the incident. He has had more than three blood tests for hiv, all negative, but he now has sores and a white tongue all the time in his mouth. he went to a throat doctor also who took cultures; they came back negative; he still have the sores and white tongue and thinks the tests could be wrong; they tell him its stress. he called me because I would understand his problem. Could he have thrush or some other form of veneral disease?

Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your complain sores and white tongue can be caused due to sexual transmission.

Sores can be due to viral infection known as Herpes and can be as a result of sexual transmission..

The white tongue can be due to yeast infection and the condition is known as ORAL THRUSH or CANDIDIASIS.

The Herpes causes cold sores which can be in bunches or at times few lesions on the lips, tongue and other parts of mouth.
These sores can persist for 2 to 3 weeks and can consequently be resolved but there can be repeated episodes of these sores.

Candidiasis causes thick white cheesy lesions on the surface of tongue which on trying to remove can leave a bleeding and raw surface behind.

I would suggest you to consult an oral pathologist and get evaluated for the exact of the lesions and the treatment will be based on diagnosis.

Hope your query is solved..
