Could The Ovarian Cyst Have Caused Weight Gain?

I had an ovarian cyst and appendix removed after it ruptured 4 weeks ago. In the last year I ve gained weight even though I work out 5-6 days week. After my emergency surgery I started losing weight. Can you tell me if my cyst was the reason for the weight gain?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Removal of ovarian or appendix cyst does not cause eight gain. There can be other reasons like thyroid and hormonal disorders which have led to increase in weight.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
