Could The Lump On The Finger Tip Be Due To Pricking For Blood Test?

I had blood taken today by then pricking my finger and taking several tests. Now, hours later I have a small lump on the top of my hand that appears to be in my veins. It moves up and down when I move my fingers. What could be causing this? Thank you.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Finger pricking is the right way of taking blood for various blood investigations.
Finger prick is done only for hemoglobin estimation although that too is a wrong way.
Anyways, finger prick can cause local redness and swelling but not an obvious lump.
Thus, The swelling which moves up and down does not appear to be due to finger prick.
You can consult your primary healthcare provider for clinical assessment of the lump.
Many soft tissue lesions like lipoma, fibroma, etc can cause such type of lump.
Thus, a clinical assessment is required and management can be planned after clinical assessment.

Thanks and take care
