Could Sudden Rise In BP Be Due To Clonidine Patch?

Hello, I have been trying to lower my BP....frequently will go over 200//100...I take losartan and recently terozasin, now at 5 mg 2x. Still pressure is up. Unable to take beta blockers as I have asthma. 2 days ago I started clonidine patch and within 1.5 hours my BP went from 160/88 to 211/108. (I was at home monitoring with an Omron.) Called the pharmacist and advised to remove patch, I did so....and to go to the ER...I did. Now comes my questions The ER doc immediately lit into me for taking off the patch.....and continued to chew me out. Said I was being hysterical!! Whaaaat???? Didn t that sexist term self destruct a couple decades ago. Anyway, he refused to let me know my BP, told me to throw away my OMRON, to never take my own BP (my dr. an d visiting nurses tell me to monitor it several times a day. BUT, after all that rambling (explanation?), why did my BP spike to quickly upon starting this med.....and was I wrong to remove the patch? Is it normal for the pressure to rise before coming down? I am so in need of expert advise and what to do.
