Could Sudden Pain In Lower Calf Mean DVT?

I have lower calf pain which I noticed this morning. I have not injured myself and there is no bruising or swelling. Could this be DVT? My father once had DVT in his 70s. I am female and 36 years old. 5 4 , 204lbs, exercising 3-4 times a week as I am actively working on losing weight.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Pain on the lower calf can occur due to many causes.
Trauma is the commonest cause of pain in lower calf.
As you have mentioned that you are exercising regularly, the pain could be due to muscle spasm.
You can use muscle relaxant and hot fomentation in case it is a muscle spasm.
There is possibility of DVT since there is a family history of DVT.
If the pain does not get relieved after using muscle relaxant and hot fomentation, then you need to consult a surgeon for clinical assessment and investigations (Doppler ultrasound) to look for evidence of DVT.

Thanks and take care
