Could Severe Hip Pain Be Due To Prednisone Shot?

My husband has poison ivy, went to Med Express yesterday. They gave him an injection of Decadron and prescribed prednisone (to start taking today). This evening he experienced severe pain in his hip, at times could barely walk. Could this be from the shot? (He has had prednisone before, no problems.)

Oncologist 's  Response
Hello,

The Prednisone itself does not cause pain, but maybe it is from the shot.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Esmeralda Sera, Oncologist
