Could Red Bumps Under The Eyes Be Caused By Bronchitis?

I was diagnosed with bronchitis and prescribed antibiotic, but even before I started on antibiotic I got red bumps under my eye. The next day the bumps got much bigger and I developed other red bumps all over my body. Is it possible that bronchitis can cause red bumps or is it some unrelated cause? Thank you, Sarah

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Bronchitis can be associated with rash because of the spores, but bumps under the eyes are not related with bronchitis. Bumps can be due to skin allergy, irritants (like smoke, pet dander, pollen, dust, etc), over exposure to sun or Milia. Avoid direct exposure to sunlight, cold compress, applying aloe vera gel is quite effective. Avoid pricking & poking. Take steam treatment for your face & clean & exfoliate the skin. Get clinically examined by a dermatologist to rule out blepharitis, herpes, graves disease, etc. If you are diagnosed with Milia you may need cryotherapy or laser ablation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
