Could Recurring Left Side Chest Pain Below Collarbone Be Indicative Of Heart Attack?

I have been having a sharp chest pain, about three inches below my collarbone on the left side, for the past few hours. It s a sharp pain that comes and goes. I m a 58 year old female, and I am obese. Could this be a possible heart attack? Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello, sharp pain in left side of chest can be cardiac. But there are other symptoms associated like sweating and severe pain in chest which wont go on its own. If you want to very sure and need to rule out cardiac reason i would suggest to you to go to nearest hospital and get a electrocardiogram.
