Could Prolonged Vaginal Bleeding Be Due To Placement Of IUD Post Abortion?

I had an abortion 2 months ago, I still bleed not heavy but it s everyday. Sometimes I even let out a yellowish discharge that doesn t smell to well. I did get a IUD after my surgical abortion I m wondering if that might ve been the issue. I do want the bleeding to stop and the discharge to go away how can I help my situation?

Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Prolonged vaginal bleeding and discharge per vagina could be as a result of side effects caused due to presence of IUD itself.
Some times, this happens for some time soon after the insertion due to local reaction and later on decreases and stops on its own after the body gets adjusted to IUD.
In case it continues or you develop fresh symptoms, you may need to change the contraceptive method on consultation with the Gynaecologist.
